Domain de baronarques
Once owned by the 8th-century Benedictine abbey of Saint-Polycarpe, Domaine de Baronarques is rooted in the Aude region of Languedoc, a historic centre of French winegrowing. Since 1998, the estate has taken its rightful place alongside the famous Bordeaux châteaux which now belong to Camille Sereys de Rothschild, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild. The vineyard is planted with Atlantic varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon) and Mediterranean varieties (Syrah, Malbec).
La Capitelle de Baronarques, born from this same terroir, bears the hallmark of its region of origin, shown in its generous fruit, spice notes and refined aromas and flavours. The name "Capitelle" refers to the dry-stone huts built by local winegrowers.
